3 Strategies for Better Breathing

Breathing is our brains #1 priority because we cannot live without breathing!!!

Since breathing is so automatic, most of us don't think about it.

However, tuning into the breath can have HUGE overall health benefits!

Diaphragmatic Breathing is a foundational component of overall Pelvic health and wellness.

The pelvic floor and the respiratory diaphragm work together synergistically for efficient and optimal core function to provide stability with movement and to manage intra-abdominal pressure.

Incorporating diaphragmatic breathing into your wellness routine can translate to positive benefits to every system in the body:

Breathing helps to:

1. Maintain a healthy length tension relationship of the pelvic floor muscles.

2. Promotes bowel, bladder and sexual health.

3. Regulate the nervous system by stimulating the vagus nerve.

This taps into the "Rest, Digest, Repair" Parasympathetic nervous system to help us relax and stay calm. This is necessary for healing because many people that struggle with pain live in the " fight, flight, freeze" part of the Sympathetic nervous system.

In order to heal we a balanced nervous system is necessary! Breathing can help us achieve this!

4. Promote digestion and maintain endocrine health.
